My Goals for 2008

In: Goals

9 Jan 2008

It’s taken a couple of weeks, but I take setting goals pretty seriously.  Check out my last post on that here.  So here are my 2008 goals.  These are not resolutions.  Resolutions suck.  These are GOALS.  This isn’t all of them, it’s not all of the details, and they are not in any order.  That would just be too personal…  :)

  • Run a FULL Marathon, maybe the Vegas Marathon, maybe the San Antonio.  Not sure yet.
  • Keep our Something SO Big commitment
  • Date my mate…at least 26 times.  That’s every other week…
  • Lead our church to an average weekly attendance of 1,000 people…this goal has a HUGE sub-list of smaller goals.
  • Shower Amber with affection
  • Read two books on fatherhood
  • Read the other 50 some odd books that have accumulated on my shelf. :)
  • pay off all of our medical debt from Couper’s birth
  • Triple the amount of money we have saved up in our emergency fund
  • Go on a vacation…just Amber and me.  Sorry Couper.
  • Go on a family vacation.  Happy Couper.
  • Solidify my magic show routines and script them all out
  • Send more thank you notes
  • Ride in the “Hotter N’ Hell 100″  a 100 mile bike ride in Wichita Falls.
  • Communicate clearly.  This includes being a better listener.
  • Transform our church and up our game in all of our ministry teams, especially as we head in to the PAC
  • Implement our new planning system and work out all of the “kinks.”  This new system will help us to always be ahead of the game as far as planning out and creating our Sunday morning experiences.
  • Lead our church through the BEST and most spiritually challenging Christmas message series ever…which is already being planned because of the goal above!
