14 Nov 2008Yesterday, Clayton Bell and I did a blogging crossover where we both shared thoughts on the Sabbath. You can read part 1 here and then part 2 at Clayton’s Blog.
Today, we thought we’d just discuss for a few minutes on video. The whole purpose of this post is to start a conversation about a commandment that gets ignored and broken all the time. What do you think about the Sabbath? How do you observe the Sabbath? What are your struggles with it?

Bro, even if no one else enjoyed it, I had a great time. Let’s do it again soon…say in a month or so!

Great discussion guys. I love the format you chose where you both blogged about the topic first and then did a video-chat about it. I look forward to more like this.
I’m with you though, when I was in full-time ministry it was tough to keep the Sabbath. It required some intentional effort and prioritizing on my part to make it happen.

LOVED it. Great job on this series guys. I especially loved part 3 – vid chat was great. As far as Sabbath goes for yours truly, I struggle as you do. I have Fridays off – which is nice – but I sometimes have the tendency to want to work. I find it also difficult to “unplug” but I know its vital for my health. I think good accountability is a gift to help with this.

Whitey: I just shared these thoughts as a devotion with my men’s group. I felt it was what we needed and it went well.
