One of my goals (more on all of my 2009 goals soon) for 2009 is going to be to read 50 books. I think. Maybe 40. Not sure yet…
I need to be a more avid reader. So, I am compiling a list. Its getting there. I need some help though.
And don’t say “The Bible.” The Bible goes without saying; it is a non-negotiable. Putting the Bible on a reading list is like putting breathing on a to-do list. It is a given.

I’m actually doing something a little different this year. I’m pulling out the meaningful books I’ve read in the past and re-reading them before getting to any new ones. I figure I need to go deeper with solid concepts and not just get more….

If you’ve never read Henry Blackaby’s book Experiencing God, I’d recommend you start there.
Follow on with Richard Foster’s Celebration of Discipline, followed by Dallas Willard’s The Spirit of the Disciplines.
That’ll give you some things to chew on for a while!
