PALMS

When I moved from Lubbock Texas to Luling Texas to be a youth minister, Cole was the lead pastor at the church I went to. I remember him telling me that the youth ministry had a puppet ministry…and, I remember thinking to myself “oh great, here it comes. Another pathetic ministry I will have to be a part of.”

Then, I met Tim and Kamala Lewis. They were different than most ministry leaders I had ever met. Their puppet team wasn’t just some punk kids half-heartedly doing some cheesy shows…rather, their kids were devoted to the ministry and poured themselves into it. Over the last few years I have gotten to know the Lewis family better and they are some of my favorite people in the entire world. It has become very clear to me that the reason their puppet ministry ROCKS is because they don’t see it as “theirs.” They see it as a way to live out the mission God has given all of us in Matthew 28:19. They pour themselves into this ministry each week and they are making an impact because of it.

The puppet team is called PALMS. Not too long ago Tim and Kamala started attending The Connection Church and now we have several kids from the church serving in the PALMS ministry. This Sunday, they’ll be doing a special Christmas show for our Konnection Kidz that is going to ROCK YOUR KIDS FACE OFF! Not literally, they’ll be ok. But the coolness might knock them down. Its so good in fact, that I want to skip church and sneak over to Konnection Kidz.

As you can imagine though, Sundays are pretty busy for me, just like many of you who serve in other ministries. That’s why PALMS will be putting the show on again Sunday evening at 6:00pm. They’ll be at Hill Country Christian School in San Marcos. The address is 1401 Davis Lane and YOU are invited. Its totally free and you will have a BLAST. Seriously, don’t miss it.
