Making the Church Dangerous Again

Craig Groeschel really messed me up at Catalyst West last week. My thoughts have seemed to all center around his talk lately.

He talked about how we need to develop “line three believers.”

Picture three lines in the sand. Its our job to help people cross these lines.

Line one: “I believe the gospel enough to benefit me.”

I get free donuts, I can wear shorts and be comfortable, I get to go to Heaven, so I’ll keep up this whole church thing.

Line two: “I believe the gospel enough to contribute comfortably.”

I’ll give $10 or maybe even $20 a week to the church, I’ll host a small group, I’ll work in the nursey and rock babies and even make some bigger commitments as long as I am comfortable.

Line three: “I believe the gospel enough to give my LIFE to it.”

I will do whatever it takes to build the Kingdom and fulfill the calling God has place on my life to love God, love people, and make disciples.

Only ONE of these lines will make the Church dangerous again.

How can we get people to cross that third line?
