I’m dead serious…
The 16 weeks of intense training and the discipline required are outstanding leadership training.
Running 26.2 miles…
- is not for the weary
- is not for those who give up easily
- will HURT.
- will draw blood.
- requires passion, desire, and increased energy.
- requires prayer. (Ok, so maybe a marathon doesn’t require prayer, but it sure makes it easier.
)
- takes patience and a step at a time mentality.
- takes new habits.
- takes someone at least a little crazy.
- means you have to give consistent effort.
- means you do things that hardly anyone else is willing to do.
- is one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do.
- has a HUGE payoff.
- is easier when you listen and learn always.
And leadership is just about the same.
