A church’s beliefs and ideas are guided by the pastor, but really are a reflection of the members and the church as a whole. Just because a lead pastor feels strongly about an idea or position, does not necessarily mean that the individual members or the church as whole feels the same. When the lead pastor moves on, the church will retain its own beliefs and ideas only to be guided by the next lead pastor. A church is much more than its lead pastor. Shoot ... not near everyone agrees with us all of the time about everything. But sometimes people take one person's thoughts and apply it to the whole church. That might be to simple ...
