Coolest Kindle / iPhone / Interwebs Hack Ever?
I learned something super cool this week:
If you use a Kindle and you read a lot of news, blogs and anything else on the web you NEED to know this.
What if you find something you want to read but you don’t have time to read it right that second? And what if you found it on your iphone or computer, or the internet or twitter or just about anywhere else? And what if it could get sent to your Kindle to be read later?
“You mean it could all go to my Kindle? Or my iPhone Kindle app? That would be AWESOME!”
Go to www.instapaper.com right now and set up a free account.
Its SO easy! Instapaper gives you a Read Later bookmark.
- When you find something you want to read, but you don’t have time, you just click a “read later” bookmark.
- Instapaper saves it on their server
- Later, you can log in to instapaper to read it or even have it all sent to your iPhone or Kindle.
- Its all synced in the cloud so you always have the ability to read your saved stuff on any device later.
- If you use iPhone apps like Tweetie 2 or Netnewswire, Instapaper is integrated.
This little tech hack has changed the way I read blogs, news, stories, and etc that I find on the web.
Smoke it Up!
I’ll never forget the time I met a bunch of guys in a band from Florida and told them we were having brisket for dinner. They all looked scared and one of them said “what’s brisket?” Priceless. Of course, I told them what it was…Yak meat.
Before we even moved to start Revolution Church team member Seth Pennington and I built a big old smoker / grill on a trailer. We knew that we’d be doing lots of cooking to meet people and we were able to build GrillZilla on wheels for cheaper than you can go out and buy a nice grill for. And most important of all, we wanted people to get the BEST tasting food possible.
GrillZilla works perfect. Its funny because we buy .88 cent for an 8 pack hot dogs all the time and get comments like “this is the BEST hot dog ever!” At one event, I heard a kid say to his dad, “Dad, why do these hot dogs taste good? Yours are nasty!”
SCORE one Revolution.
So far we’ve conquered hot dogs, burgers, sausage, turkey and now brisket.
And here is the secret…SMOKE. No direct heat. That makes the food goooooood.
I’ve been up for over 24 hours smoking 77 pounds of brisket for our Ugly Christmas Sweater Party on GrillZilla. One team member is making 30 pounds of potatoe salad. Others are making brownies, drinks, beans, and more. My eyes burn, I’m tired, cranky and I want some Starbucks bad. But it will all be worth it when people bite in to that juicy brisket at the party!
