In 6th grade, I started writing out my life goals list. Each year, I make adjustments and go for it.
I am big on goal setting. I just refuse to drift through life. Most people spend more time planning their summer vacation than they do planning their life out. I think that’s a tragedy.
These are not resolutions. Resolutions stink. These are GOALS. This list isn’t all of my 2010 goals, it doesn’t include all of the details, and they are not in any order. I did pretty good knocking out most of my 2009 goals. Here is the 2010 list:
- Launch Revolution Church. And I don’t just mean “start” weekly services. That’s happening no matter what on Jan. 24th. I mean LAUNCH the church. 2010 is going to be an all out, pedal to the metal year for me as the Lead Pastor of Revolution Church. I could write an entire week long series of posts elaborating on this goal.
- Take Amber out every other week. And not just for dinner and a movie. I’m talking stinking awesome, knock her socks off dates. Shower her with affection and always put her before myself. Always.
- Memorize the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 13. Not a bad chapter of the Bible to be able to quote.
- Spend good, quality time with Couper every day. Some days it might be 10 minutes; others it could be 10 hours. I refuse to miss my son grow up.
- Be more focused and work harder than I ever have in my life.
- Read 30 books.
- Continue to pray a LOT.
- Read through the entire Bible on the YouVersion Chronological plan.
- Go on a mission trip out of the country in preparation to get Revolution hooked up with a place we can go back to regularly.
- Run my first ULTRA MARATHON. The ultra marathon I have chosen is 31.068 miles (50K). Its on February 27th. Bring it.
- Go on my first sailing experience.
- Stay ahead on writing sermons. I’ve been told it can’t be done by many mentors. We shall see. I’m out to prove all of you guys wrongo.
Bring it on 2010!!!
