Sometimes the best choice is the decision to stop choosing.
I was at one of the places I hate to be more than any other this past week…Wal Mart. It always happens to me. The second I turn in the parking lot, the horrible experience begins. Sure enough, as is typical, I got stuck in one of the parking lanes behind someone waiting for the perfect parking spot to be available.
When parking you really only have two options:
1. You can PARK, turn off your car and start walking toward the entrance.
2. You can be frustrated, waste your time waiting for some soccer mom to back her minivan out of a closer spot, complain about how she’s taking too long and then finally park, only to look around wondering if you could have gotten a better spot….
Personally I take the first option. Pull in. Park. Go.
Is the numerous amount of options we have today in every aspect of life hindering our decision making ability?
Try this: Find something that will do the job and meet your own standards, stop looking and then throw all of the countless other available choices in the mental garbage can.
OR, allow yourself to be tangled into the endless web of second-guessing.
You can’t go through life regretting every decision you make just because it might not have been the best possible choice. Its much better to just make a choice and get on with your life!
Yes, have high standards, but then be satisfied!
Just. Move.
If you continue searching, you will always find something “better” and in the process you can diminish the satisfaction you are getting from the choice you already made.
