New Year’s Revolution Mind Dump

  • I preached today on how to have a New Year’s Revolution!
  • The bottom line for any new year is this: if you want to have what you had last year, just do the same things you did before. BUT, if you want to have a REVOLUTIONARY NEW YEAR, you have to do things you’ve never done.
  • We talked about the 4 things we need to do first. First things first! Those things were:
    1. the first of every day, Seek God (Prayer and Bible reading)
    2. the first of every week, WORSHIP God. We say “RUN TO THE HOUSE!”
    3. the first of the month, TITHE. Get started now by going here.
    4. the first of the year, FAST. Yup. We are doing this together this week. Click here for more.
  • It was an AMAZING day. I asked people to raise their hands if they were going to trust God and take one or all of these steps. Almost every single person raised their hand.
  • I also had people raise their hands if they were making a decision for Christ. Over 20 people raised their hands. HUGE!
  • This is flat out KRAY KRAY and a much bigger response than I expected…248 people signed up to do the 7 day REV FAST this week. It starts tomorrow morning.   • The REV Band kicked the service off with “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons…they did some crazy stuff with drums. It was a blast! During our worship set they did an incredible job of kicking off 2013 with a THICK spirit of worship.
  • Jay Dorrough, who plays bass and leads our stage director team, wore red pants today. I just thought you should know that…
  • I announced the total of our Christmas Offering today as well. Our goal was a tough one – $60,000. And we nailed it! Our final total was $58,323.57!!! WAY TO GO!!!
  • Revolution, you are the most generous church I know! It is an honor to lead, love and serve with you each week!
