Jorts

In pretty anti-Jorts. If you want to wear them go for it, but I won’t.

So when Micah Fisher, our worship director, showed up in a pair I had to give him a hard time. I posted a pic to twitter and gave him some heck.

I should have thought ahead a little. We have these big heads printed up for our current message series which made it easy for him to get me back. He quickly posted this video…whoops.

  • We had Mother’s Day at our house on Saturday (as usual). I had a blast hooking my wife up with 3 meals, taking her shoe shopping and just hanging out as a family. Absolute BLAST!
  • Congrats to our Worship Leader, Micah Fisher, on his engagement today to Tina Dorrough! WAY TO GO MICAH!
  • Today I came on stage inside a pine box casket. We used it as an illustration for the message. I bet nobody’s ever preached from a casket…on Mother’s Day!
  • The message today was about the abundant life that God has for us right here right now. If we are ever going to live that kind of life, we have to choose living daily.
  • The KRAY KRAY part about this is that God says to truly live, we must die daily to ourselves.
  • You’re either living or you’re dying. There is nothing in between. What are you choosing each day? Living or dying?
  • God desires that we live life to the fullest. Both on the other side of eternity AND right here, right now!
  • Grab the REV APP to get sermon video tomorrow!
  • We had three of our REV Moms on stage today performing a rewrite of Bohemian Rhapsody. We called it “Mommy Rhapsody.” Hilarious and a great way to honor moms!
  • My wife played the part of YOLO MOM on a video we showed today jumping a bike OVER (ok into) a pool. Hilarious!
  • On that same wavelength, I did a little skateboarding on the street this evening with a neighbor. Perfect way to end the day. I love being the biggest kid on our street.
  • Favorite shots of the day below. Erin True was our photog of the day. See all shots here.

Yolo Mind Dump

  • I got to personally pray with two people after services to begin life with Christ! NEVER GETS OLD! LOVE what we do as a church!
  • Jesus is POWERFUL. He’s really been reminding me of that lately. :)
  • Sunday was incredible. We kicked off a new series called “YOLO” with a message about not wasting our lives and the responsibility that comes with the freedom we have in Christ.
  • I preached through the parable of the of the three servants in Matthew 25.
  • One point I did not include (because it didn’t fit) that is HUGE from this passage is that if we aren’t ready for the blessing of the master, it could bury us or we might bury it. Sometimes God doesn’t pour out His blessing on us right when we want Him to because He knows we aren’t ready for it!
  • I believe many people will take their next step with Christ this week as a result of all God did on Sunday at Revolution Church.
  • I came on stage via a zip line that our REV Creative team rigged up. It was a BLAST….until the last service when I grabbed the cabling wrong and caught my hand in the device that made me actually zip. OUCH.
  • We will have another interesting entrance this coming week. Don’t miss it!
  • We also had real tattoo artists that attend Revolution doing tattoos (fake) in the lobby. It was fun!
  • Sunday evening we had a communion and baby dedication service. It was also a blast…and a good reminder of why we provide quality kids ministry each week. Its hard to focus with the kiddos in the room! If you participated in baby dedication you can go snag your photos here.
  • Check out all shots of the day here. Here’s a few favorites!
