Fandemonium Halftime Video

This past Sunday we did a one week sermon that went well with the Super Bowl called Fandemonium, we had a “half time” report video in the sermon. It was a lot of fun and a great creative idea. They just interrupted me with the video to create a true half time feel. Check it out here or watch below.

We are kicking off a new series called Man VS. Wife this Sunday at Revolution Church, but you don’t have to wait for church to start applying God’s Word to your marriage.

Here is what I want to encourage you to do each day as we get closer to our new series. Open up the Bible and read through Philippians 2:1-11. Read it every day and then pray these two specific things:

Jesus, let me see the areas I fall short in serving my spouse.

Jesus, let me see my spouse through your eyes.

See you Sunday for Man VS. Wife at 9:30am, 11:00am or 1:00pm!!!

Super Bowl Sunday at Revolution Church was FLAT CRAY CRAY! I had a blast with all of you today!
BEST OF ALL, we had several people accept Christ today!
My grandma (Ninnie) and grandad (Mack) as well as my parents were in THE HOUSE today. Honored to have them join us! My grandad said “I didn’t have any trouble hearing in THAT church!”
We encouraged everyone to come wearing their favorite sports team gear and paint their faces. I was blown away at how many people participated – I’d say about 90% of the people came geared up.
I had my face painted in true Revolution Church colors and the entire band and staff were wearing custom made Revolution Church football jerseys. Had a blast with that!
I also got to wear my brothers SCUC Championship ring. PHAT! and FUN!
And my Ma showed up with my old hockey jersey on. REPRESENT!
The face paint wasn’t random. It was actually a part of the sermon, an illustration about how when you know Christ, His glory paints your face. Get the Revolution App to watch the sermon or go listen / watch here.
Speaking of watching online or via the Revolution App, we got new camera gear this week and now you can finally see some GOOD quality video of the sermon each week.
Halfway through the sermon, we had a “half time report” video interrupt me. It was hilarious and fun! I’ll post it later this week.
We gave a grill away to the craziest fan at the start of each sermon…all three services.
The Revolution Band did “We will rock you” by Queen. Talk about some ENERGY!
Remember: BE A BRANGER!!! Man VS. Wife starts next Sunday at Revolution! Our new worship times also start next week. Repeat after me: 9:30am, 11:00am and 1:00pm.

Two Year Birthday in Photos

Sunday we celebrated our two year birthday at Reovlution Church. In two years we have seen 495 people accept Christ. Sunday alone 34 people followed Christ in baptism! Here are some photo highlights from the day. For full baptism photos click here and for pics from the service click here.

Bulldog Mind Dump

We kicked off a new message series called Triple Dog Dare today. If you missed it, check it out here or go download the Revolution Church App for your mobile device.
I had four special guests on stage…two bulldogs named Diesel and Sadie and their owners, Dudley and Cindy Wait. It was a blast. And it made me want a bulldog more!
I triple dog dared our people to try out authentic, biblical community today in 2012. To do this we had what we call “The BIG REV Group Event.” This semester we will have 19 REV Groups meeting all over our area. If you missed it, you really need to check one out.
I got to speak one on one with a guy today that accepted Christ this morning. NEVER GETS OLD! YES!
Two of our Street Team guys (parking) got together and bought us our own, Revolution logo parking cones. Really cool! See pics below.
Really proud of my wife. She is pregnant and not feeling 100% and yet she comes and sits on the front row every service and cheers me on. It means so much. Thanks Toots!
I was blown away by how many guests we had today. 25 families visited us at the VIP area. CRAZY!
I got to speak for a while with one guest this morning that was literally wrecked and speechless. I asked him if he enjoyed his experience and he just couldn’t even get any words out. Awesome.
We had our highest non-holiday attendance ever today.
The second Triple Dog Dare video that our team made was hilarious, especially if you know Pastor David well. Watch it here.
I met with a team of people today about launching our first campus at Revolution. All I will say now is its not what you think and we area already hard at work on it!
While I am pumping you up about future things, on superbowl sunday we are doing a message called FANDEMONIUM and I need everyone to wear their favorite football team gear. GO all out. Paint your face, wear a jersey, put a cheese head on. Just come ready to have a blast and get rowdy!
Got an insane week ahead.

Don’t Put Jesus First in 2012

Yes, you read that title correctly.

This week’s message is called Don’t Put Jesus First in 2012. We sent out an E-Update today about it and people are going nuts sending me emails of disapproval typed out in all caps.

Before you label me or Revolution Church as heretics, settle down for a second. Why don’t you show up and listen to the message. I’ll give you a short preview right now:

Putting Jesus first is a flawed paradigm. Jesus doesn’t want to be first on your list. He insists on being the center of your life.

When you put Him first, you sort of segregate Him from all other priorities. But if Jesus is at the center, he becomes vital to every single area of life. Put Jesus at the center of it all and for many of us, He will actually be first for the first time ever.

I hope you will join us this Sunday at 8:30, 10:00 or 11:30 at Revolution Church as we look at why maybe it shouldn’t be Jesus first.

Vision 2012

Back in December we went on location and shot a lot of video! I can’t wait to share with you this Sunday what God has put on my heart for Revolution Church in 2012.

The vision of Revolution Church is to love God, love people and start a revolution in one life at a time. If we really are ALL about loving God and loving people, then EVERYTHING we do will be FOR HIM AND FOR THEM.

All of the Lights Illuminate

The band wrote an original song this year called “Illuminate.” Its good. Its really good. Sometimes they do it with a rap, sometimes not, but at Christmas we did a full on 10 minute mashup of All of the Lights, Illuminate and the Illuminate rap.

This creative element involved a month of work to sync up video to live audio, build out a light show, hang additional lighting, choreograph out a dance and more.

Below is video of two different angles of the first part of this creative element. The video is a little dark, but you will get the idea. Be sure to pay attention to the screens, dancers, lights and lasers. It was INCREDIBLE. I am blown away at what REV Creative pulled off!

Our Five Christmas at Revolution Worship Experiences were packed out!
We had about 62 people accepted Christ! GET PUMPED UP REVOLUTION! We got to personally followup already with 15 of those people through our Next Steps ministry! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The “All of the Lights” / orignal song “Illuminate” mashup was one of the most creative things I have ever seen done in a church. Great job REV Creative! Cool to have dancers on stage for the first time ever at Revolution.
I was completely overwhelmed the last two days by our REV Teams and how incredible they are! Wow! Great job team! You made the dream of Christmas at Revolution come true with your hard work. And it did not return void. Look at all the lives that were changed!
That said, get ready…2012 is going to be truly REVOLUTIONARY!
Fudge and coffee at the REV Cafe was amazing!
It snowed as people were leaving each service…i’ll admit the snow tasted like soap…but still fun to have snow!
We gave all of our guests (we call them VIP’s) a bright green Revolution Church tumbler cup full of fun stuff. Love it!
Everyone that accepted Christ got one of our new “Start Here Tubes” complete with this booklet on accepting Christ and a Revolution Church t-shirt. Just our way of celebrating life change!
The Street Team golf carts were decked out with Christmas lights! Awesome!
We gave all of our REV Team members a cool Revolution Church Christmas shirt. They sported them proudly!
Remember no services tomorrow, Christmas day, December 25th.

Night of Worship

Tomorrow evening, Wednesday, December 7th we will be having A Night of Worship at Revolution.

I’ll be sharing about The Gift and you will get to hear a little from Nic Burleson, Pastor of one of our church plants – Timber Ridge Church.

Its going to be a great time together of extended worship, communion, and more.

Full kids ministry will be available for your kiddos.

BE THERE and BE A BRANGER! Bring a friend that you have been inviting that just can’t make it on Sundays…take them to dinner afterwards…coffee…ice cream…whatever it takes to get them to THE HOUSE!

Don’t be late!
