I want to thank every volunteer who serves at Revolution. Team, you are amazing! It is refreshing to pastor a church where the volunteers understand that the staff cannot do it alone. A church is most effective when the body ministers to the body!

The church cannot become a one man show unless that one man is JESUS!

As a church, each of us is called to pour in and own a ministry. Church is not just about receiving ministry. Yes, there are times that each of us needs to ministered to. But most of the time we need to be the ones ministering!

I love serving with you Revolution! I really believe that if we continue to serve our hearts our and pray our guts out that we will be unstoppable when it comes to starting spiritual revolutions in one life at a time!

I have to admit, it was incredibly uncomfortable for me to preach in my board shorts this past Sunday, but check out the results of what can happen when we let God call the shots:

• I cannot believe all that God is doing at Revolution right now! Who says summer has to be a “down time” for church. We don’t believe in down time at Revolution!
• Yesterday we talked about how the reason that so many Christ followers never see God breakthrough in a big way is because they won’t trust God and be faithful in the small things. What small step is God calling you to take? He wants to blow your mind, but He’s waiting to see if He can trust you with what is now so that He can trust you with what is next!
• Nobody is perfect. At Revolution, we believe that there is a significant step that ALL OF US can take towards God. That’s why we say that no perfect people are allowed at Revolution. We just don’t think that anyone has it figured out.
• I believe that if we continue to take steps both privately and corporately as a church, that God will continue to breakthrough in our community and that the message of Jesus will become completely unstoppable in our area. It will become VERY HARD to get to hell from Schertz, TX. We will literally see the church become all that God intended for her to be!
• In Ephesians 3:20 the Bible tells us that God has dreams much bigger than ours! We are literally seeing this verse proved to us each week at Revolution Church!
• Yesterday was Cody Atkinson’s (our intern) last day with us. Today is his last day in the office with me. I am going to miss the dude. But don’t tell him I said that.
• That said, I learned a LOT about having an intern. More on that soon.

I’m not so sure. That is definitely true, but at the same time, we only learn from our experiences if we reflect on those experiences.

I say “in your stage wisdom can come.”

Experience doesn’t fix everything. You can have lots of experience and still be stupid. You don’t have to be turning gray to have some wisdom. You can start now.

Another saying, “wise beyond your years” can actually become an understatement in your life. But, in order for that to happen, you have to be dedicated to introspection and willing to be coached.

Sure we gain wisdom with age, but young age does not have to be a barrier.

Pride is the real barrier to wisdom for most of us. Pride can stop introspection in its tracks. Pride doesn’t allow for coaching because when you’re prideful you won’t let anyone speak into your life.

-PUMPED about having some new musicians tomorrow. The band is gonna rock!

-PUMPED that marathon training starts Monday!

-NOT PUMPED about everything breaking at my house. Here’s a list of what happened this week:
Our mower broke
Our microwave broke
Our washer broke
Amber cracked her tooth bad
My laptop that runs the church had to be wiped and restored
Our kitchen sink sprung a bad leak and ruined a cabinet
Our DVD player broke when I sat down for the first time ever this week last night to watch a DVD.

I keep waiting for something freak to happen…like getting eaten by a bear…

But God is good! It’s gonna take a LOT more than that to get me down! Needless to say there’s been a lot of spiritual warfare at the White House this week. I believe that God is going to do something incredible at Revolution over the next few weeks! Thats why satan is taking cheap shots at this pastor.

Do not miss tomorrow Revolution!

If you are truly creating something worth loving then it will be worth slamming too.

I’m learning that criticism isn’t something you get thrown at you but that it’s actually something you earn.

See, if you really are creating something great you’ll get some black eyes along the way.

You have to be willing to shake things up in the present if you want to go down in history. It is an art form because you have to learn to be challenging without being defiant. You must be able to disturb but not annoy.

I am learning that the quickest way to do this is to bleed truth.

If its worth doing it will be worth the slam that comes with it. Its risky, its demanding and its not all that glamorous at times. But I think any real difference maker would say “that’s just what I do.”
