Exciting news for us Revolution! We will be adopting our own orphanage in Haiti in the coming months! Through our support every kid will get basic needs covered including sanitation, nutrition, education and my favorite, life transformation! I am FIRED UP about us becoming a part of the ongoing hope, help and healing locally and globally through joint missions efforts in Haiti. What an honor!
I will actually be going to Haiti with a group of pastors to see the different orphanages that need to be adopted later this month. One thing that is tough in Haiti right now is that nothing can be shipped in to these kiddos. So I though “since we are going anyway, why not carry a duffel full of supplies that they can use and get some JOY out of? I’ve even convinced the other pastors to carry one as well.
So here is what I need us to all do: bring the supplies and I’ll carry them in myself. They need / want:
- Hair accessories for girls: for example, barrettes, clips, combs, brushes, ribbons.
- Personal hygiene kits for girls and boys: for example, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, soap, deodorant, feminine hygiene products (no liquids).
- Soccer balls (deflated) and other toys for boys, i.e. cars, trucks (small ones).
- Coloring books, stickers, crayons and pencils.
- School Supplies: spiral notebooks with perforated pages (to cleanly remove pages), plastic 12″ rulers (with centimeters as well as inches), pens, pencils, large rubber erasers.
You bring it to the office any Monday – Thursday before March 22nd and I will carry it in to Haiti. I am excited about all that God is going to do through YOU, Revolution Church in the coming months and years. OH…be sure to start buffing up a little because one day you might be going to Haiti with us and carrying in a duffel bag!
