God is blowing my mind right now on so many levels!
Had some people take huge steps in their faith today!
Had many people accept Christ and take that FIRST huge step today!
The Revolution Band…WOW! I know I brag on them a lot, but they back it up every Sunday.
Got an AMAZING report from our first church plant, Timber Ridge Church in Stephenville, TX today. They haven’t even started yet and they had 174 people, 3 baptisms and several decisions for Christ today at a preview service! WOW!!!! More on that this week…
Made a HUGE announcement about ILLUMINATE today. Revolution Church, mark this date on your calendar: SEPTEMBER 11th. DO. NOT. MISS. CHURCH. THAT. DAY.
That said, watch for something in your mailbox from me later this week!
I cannot believe the people that God had brought on the team in the last few weeks. Seriously talented musicians, web designers and some great forward thinkers. LOVE IT!
The Street Team (our parking guys) were working their tails off today in the heat…111 degrees when we got out of church. I LOVE those guys!!!
We beat last week’s attendance by 1. I think we have hit capacity at the gym. The numbers don’t lie! Time to get to our new place asap!
Last, I leave you with two fun band moments from today…first, Tommy doing our original song Illuminate with the rap in it and second, the Beat It riff that the band injected into the song “Break Free.”
Tonight we had our first ever Night of Worship. It was a BLAST.
Here is what we did accompanied by some pics:
The band opened with “Awake my Soul” by Mumford and Sons. Incredible!
Baby Dedication. Such an HONOR to get to commit to God in this way!
Tons of great worship music, including our very own song “Illuminate!”
Karyn Walker painted a picture of Jesus live on stage…she was fast! Incredible!
I preached on 1 Kings 18 and related what Elijah did in that story to how we can worship God everyday of our lives, not just Sunday mornings. Church services should be the start of our worship for a new week…not the start and the end.
We worshiped through giving. If you missed out you can always give online here. Its easier, fast and secure!
We had Communion together. Introspection and reflection!
We did a song called “New Creation” and a couple ladies painted Micah…literally. The song says “you’ve taken my old skin and made me new again” and being a new creation in Christ…it was so cool to watch Micah transform as he sang from a dude in a white outfit to a new creation, covered in colors, complete with a cross on his chest. A powerful, creative reminder of what Christ did for us!
We closed with “Where the Streets have no Name” by U2. U2…always rich and compelling!
Here are the songs we did:
Awake My Soul – Mumford And Sons
We Unite – Elevation Worship
Mercy Reigns – Elevation Worship
Furious – Jeremy Riddle
How He Loves – John Mark McMillan
Illuminate – Revolution Band
New Creation – Fellowship Church
Where The Streets Have No Name – U2
Check out my favorite pics from the Night of Worship below. Watch for full set of pics later this week at flickr.com/revyourlife.
