GET PUMPED UP

It seems like each Sunday is my favorite Sunday at Revolution Church ever! Every weekend I am PUMPED UP. A few weeks ago a local pastor said “Zak, why do you always say that you are pumped up? I mean, is it really as good as you are acting like it is?”

It’s not quite that simple, but here is the gist:

God chooses what we go through in life but we get to choose how we go through it. We determine our attitude. And personally, I’d just rather live PUMPED UP and excited about life each day than down in the dumps. SO its a choice I make.

Why would I choose to be pumped though? Especially on Sundays. I mean c’mon pastor, where is the holy hangover? Listen…every Sunday for the rest of my life I will be PUMPED UP…

  • Because every time just one person starts a spiritual revolution in their life we should celebrate it like crazy! (Look at Luke 15 where we see the angels throwing a crazy party over just one!)
  • Because every single sunday we get to worship God publicly, together as a Church.
  • Because Every single Sunday our kids get to hear about Jesus and what He did for them on the cross. That ROCKS!
  • And most importantly, because every Sunday the Gospel will be preached. The best part of that is that Scripture promises us that His Word never returns void! (Isaiah 55:8-13)

I don’t want to be a part of a regular, mediocre church where everyone’s eyes are glazed over, they meet for an hour and then go home.

This is a CHOICE. And personally, my choice is that no matter what is happening I am going to find reasons to be PUMPED UP and celebrate!

So don’t miss church tomorrow Revolution! We are kicking off a new series and I am PUMPED!

CadillacZak Recommends

This one is for the husbands out there…sometimes, its the OBVIOUS things we forget to do…

This week I recommend buying your wife flowers. Do it randomly. Its cheap and she will love it.

Then, if you want, go the extra mile and build her something to put flowers in. Fill it with flowers on a regular basis.

Couper and I built this country flower box on man day and gave it to Amber.

Booyah. You’re welcome…

Government Shutdown

I saw a few pastors making jokes about the possible government shutdown this morning.

ITS. NOT. FUNNY.

ITS SICK. ITS SAD.

I can’t believe how pathetic our leadership is in congress.

I minister in an area where EVERYONE will be affected somehow. 70% of people here are active duty or work on base.

People are at FLOOD STAGE in life right now. They are questioning everything in life because of this.

And, this is a chance as a spiritual leader to pave the way for faith, much like Joshua did in Joshua 3 right before they crossed into the promise land.

Pastor, its the same for you no matter where you lead. People in your church will be hurting if a shutdown happens.

You can make stupid jokes about the government or you can see this as a special opportunity to step up and change lives, carry burdens and charge into enemy territory. Satan loves this whole situation and how it will shake faith. When you make jokes and sit back and watch, you choose a side. And its not God’s side…

Step up and lead or put a sock in it and go home.

Just my two cents.

I Hate Naps

Sunday. I LOVE IT. Its an extremely fun, exciting, productive day for me each week.

Take today for example.

I woke up at 5:30.

Prayed.

Started setup at the gym at 6:00am.

Preached our two services.

Helped with tear down.

Then, I helped an electrician from our church install 2 new circuits for our lighting. Got a cool lesson in electricity.

Helped unload the baptistry at our office.

Went home, pulled the battery out of my Jeep.

Went to a school party for Couper. Had a blast! Ate way too much.

Got a new battery at Autozone. Installed said new battery.

And to top it all off, I just did my taxes.

When I share about my Sundays, some of my pastor friends give me a smug look and tell me they just take a nap after church each week. They say things like “don’t worry Zak, it won’t last” or “dude, Zak just take a nap.”

I’ll let you in on a little secret. I hate naps.

Sundays PUMP ME UP. There is no greater joy than seeing people come into the kingdom!

So on Sundays, I go with it.

That’s how God made me. Maybe I will change one day. I don’t know. I’ve been hearing that stuff for over 12 years.

But for now, I’m riding the waves of adrenaline that He has given me!

What do you do after Sunday morning?
