Look at this conversation I had on twitter over the weekend with a twitter friend. Start at the bottom and work back up to the top. Its short. This woman went to this church for 18 years regularly.
So, I just wonder, how many lost people are pulling into our parking lots and never making it in the doors?
Suddenly, the job of parking lot greeter is PROVEN to be incredibly important…
Two weeks ago, we had people walk up to the front at the end of church and write the names of lost people that they are praying for. We also encouraged them to not just pray, but to do something about their concern for these people and invite them.
Already we have had several powerful stories pouring in to the office.
So more than anything, just a reminder:
Cancer is a horrible thing for someone to experience. Losing a family member is hard. Broken relationships will eat you up inside. There are all kinds of things I could list as “the most horrible things in the world.”
But NOT ONE of those things, as terrible as they are, compare to when someone dies not having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We’re putting the lists up each week in the lobby so we can see the names and add to them until Easter. When the people that you are praying for and inviting come to church, you can take them up to their name and show them how much you wanted them there. We want everyone to celebrate what God is doing to change lives!
Check out the powerful video below from a couple of weeks ago as the lists were written out!
PUMPED about the incredible weekend we had. Lots of travel, lots of food, and lots of family! Also, I ran the Cowtown Half Marathon in Ft. Worth this morning with my dad. It was 30 degrees and we ran the first two miles straight into 36 mile an hour winds. NASTY. But, I finished alongside my Dad (for the first time ever; usually I’m ahead of him but I wanted to run with him today) and has a BLAST!
PUMPED that my parent brought my childhood, handmade by my grandad TOYBOX. I’m going to clean it up and it will be Couper’s.
PUMPED about a top secret creative element in the services tomorrow that is going to take ALL OF US at TCC to a WHOLE NUTHA’ LEVEL.
PUMPED about some other BIG STUFF that I can’t give details on…yet.
PUMPED that we are having the BIG HUNT at the Thunder Hill Raceway. BOOOYAH. I know lots of churches with Easter Egg Hunts, but none that have one with 20,000 plus eggs hidden on a NASCAR sanctioned race track. HECK YES! COME ON!
