Connectors Around the World

One of my favorite people in the world is in Brasil right now taking a small vacation all by himself. Tim Lewis sent me this picture last night while on his trip. Pretty stinking cool if you ask me. The Connection Church has Connectors all over the world this summer. We literally have people covering the globe and I love seeing our vision being communicated all over the place.

Tim has a passion for people and there is no doubt that he will impact some lives while he is there. This guy uses everything from balloons to puppets to his stupid jokes to break down walls and share Christ. That is why I love him so much. Tim, give them HEAVEN!

TWO ZAKS

I know, the title of this post has you wondering. Read to the end to find out.

This Sunday, I get to start my first message series since I have been at The Connection Church. It’s called “Illusions: Stepping In to the Light.” The series is all about how we can stop putting on this fake image of ourselves and start being the person that God made us to be-the person that Christ died for.

Cole is going on a two week vacation, which is well needed and deserved. Sure, it is only a two week series, but I am pumped and ready to go.  Both messages are written and ready and this week I am working on creative elements. Be sure to invite your friends and family!

You can see more about the new series HERE and send EVITES HERE.

Don’t miss week two especially! That is Father’s Day and we will be doing one of the COOLEST creative things we have ever done.  All I will say is this: there will be TWO ZAKS preaching that day…that’ll get you curious.

Sermon Time Lapse

I’m addicted to something new: Time Lapse. Its fascinating. Sometime, I’m going to sleep on the couch with the lights on and time lapse myself…just to see what I do when I sleep. So, this post is basically a product of me getting a new MacBook coupled with too much caffine and some time lapse video software.

This Sunday will be my first time to preach at The PAC and I am PUMPED. Since I don’t get three services anymore to preach, I’m preaching through it several times in the garage before Sunday. I really should have been doing this since day one. It helps a TON. I just wish I could get 5 people or so together to listen to me preach it 4 or 5 times and help me make it even better.

Pray with me for…

A thought.  It made me sick at my stomach today to think that 10,000 plus people died in an Earthquake in China today and many of us here in America won’t even hear about it.  I seriously feel ill.  Pray with me for these families.

Last week there was Cyclone Nargis in Burma.  The U.N. estimates that the death toll from this cyclone is 63,000 to 100,000.  Can you imagine that?  The disaster in Burma has presented the world with its most terrible humanitarian crisis since the 2004 Asian tsunami. The poor state of Burma’s infrastructure has made it tough for aid workers to deliver relief to the victims.  With as many as 1 million people still at risk, it is possible that the death toll will approach that of the entire number of civilians killed in the genocide in Darfur within the next few days.

So what is the world doing about it?  Not much.  I won’t be sleeping much tonight.

Pray some more. There are tons of people hurting right now..
