DNA, Balance & Heart Check

Recently Christine Caine spent almost a week with the staff at Bay Area Fellowship. Bay Area has the most loyal, God honoring, hard working, risk taking, Pastor supporting staff of any church I have ever seen. My prayer is that we can develop the same kind of team at Revolution Church.

Check out what Bay Area’s pastor, Bil Cornelius, and some of the Bay Area staff had to say (original link here):

After speaking two nights at the Glo Women’s Conference and 5 weekend services, she made time to sit down and pour into our staff.  This was a powerful time for our staff, leadership and key volunteers.  A few of the key takeaways from this time and Christine’s 20+ years of ministry experiences were the following:

  • The staff of a Church must not only support the Pastor’s vision, but the vision must become theirs.  Only by grafting our Pastor’s vision into our DNA, will we ever be able to fully support him in carrying it out.
  • Balance isn’t the Goal.  A balanced life is a myth when it comes to those called to lead the Church. Meaning: Nothing can compete for the HIGH calling God has placed on our lives.  No outside agendas should pull us away from the direction our Church is heading.
  • Always check your heart.  We must frequently examine ourselves and purge ourselves of attitudes or actions that might prevent us from furthering the assignment God has given our Pastor.

Sunday Mind Dump

  • WOW! Today was absolutely amazing at The Connection Church!
  • I preached on 1 Kings 18 today. If you missed it, you’ll be able to listen here tomorrow.
  • The BBQ for our Connection Group hosts yesterday was awesome! We are rolling out some BIG changes with how we do groups and I am PUMPED about it!
  • I met a kid from Bay Area Fellowship church that is going to be living in San Marcos and attending Texas State today. He was there with his family checking it out. Cool to see how we’ve built a network of great churches and how we can recommend people when they move. I have some old youth group students living down in Corpus that are going to Bay Area! Nice meeting you Bryan!
  • The music was SLAMMING today. Micah melted my face off with his first song “Start a Fire.” WOW!!!
  • Cole Baptized eight people this afternoon at our pool.
  • We got new lifeguards at the pool. They ROCK. They are far from God but were totally into Baptism. Looks like I’ll be chilling at the pool more!
  • I want a new tattoo, bad. Los is working on a new one, why can’t I? :)
  • Man I am stinking PUMPED UP about church today!
  • I ran 12.5 miles yesterday for my marathon training. Felt terrible afterwards. Not a good sign, considering the race I am running in November is 26.2 miles. YIKES!
  • Cole was giving me heck about running today. When you see him, encourage him to get back on the exercise train…
  • Our new pastor, NIC, starts NEXT SUNDAY! WAAAAHHHHOOOOO!!! We will be sharing an office; can’t wait to be working with the guy.
  • I have a TON to do this week. What’s new? :)
  • Gotta go attack the yard work.
