Not So Subtle Reminders

My day was chock full of some not so subtle reminders that our days are numbered.

First, this morning, I read in James chapter 4 where it says “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”

After camping in James I flipped over to Psalm 39:4-5. Yikes!

Then, I spoke with my Dad and Grandmother about my Aunt who is working through a possible health issue.

In the afternoon two church members came in dealing with the sudden and tragic death of their father.

Tonight I took Amber out to see “Up.” I won’t spoil the movie but it will yank your heart out in the first 10 minutes as it deals with losing someone whom you love DEEPLY.

I once heard Billy Graham say

The greatest waste in all of our earth, which cannot be recycled or reclaimed, is our waste of the time that God has given us each day.

This weekend, in the midst of all the craziness, I am going to reflect in my heart and with my actions how thankful I am for the people in my life. I don’t want to waste a minute of this beautiful thing called life.

Jesus Said Too Much About Money

“You cannot wholeheartedly be a follower of Jesus Christ and stay lost financially.  It’s impossible, because He said too much about money.”

- Andy Stanley, North Point Church, Alpharetta, GA

Pastors and other peeps in ministry, how can we build a culture that understands this in our churches? How can we break the “80/20 rule?”

Imagine what we could do for the Kingdom if we were willing to give it ALL to God…

How I Read the Bible.

Check THIS out. This is an incredible project and I must admit, I have started doing a LOT of my Bible reading using this. Absolutely incredible. This is the perfect example of someone carrying out how God wants to be redeeming technology too! Bobby and Terry, great job! Be sure to watch the intro video on the left.
