- PUMPED about the Current Leadership meeting we had today. People left JACKED UP FOR JESUS today! Each team shared some awesome dreams they have for 2009. Cole did an incredible job sharing about dreams with us today. MAN I AM PUMPED UP!
- PUMPED about my race next weekend.
- PUMPED and FREAKED OUT that I am signed up to run the Disney Marathon in Florida in Jan. 2010. HOLY COW. Remember when I said I’d never do another full marathon just a few weeks ago?
- NOT PUMPED about how little I was able to read this week.
- NOT PUMPED that my training for this race next weekend hasn’t been the greatest. But no biggie. Its just a half marathon (13.1 miles)

Pray Like it Depends on GOD
It has been an insane week at The Connection Church Offices. We have been incredibly busy and I am proud of our team for pulling it all off. This is a big weekend: a Current meeting, regular Church services, A Group Link event, Connection 201…tons of stuff going on!
Cole always says “work like it depends on you and pray like it depends on God.”
We have worked our tails off all week like it depends on us getting ready for this BIG weekend. Now, I want to ask you to join us in praying like it depends on God.
My pray is that so many people would join Connection Groups this weekend that we would be forced to find more homes and more hosts! Would you join with me and pray some BIG PRAYERS for those who are not yet connected over the next two days?
Sunday Mind Dump
- First of all, I was likened to a “middle finger” today. Wow. Thanks David Norman. Funny thing is, I’m ok with it.
- Cole’s sermon was incredible today. I think he spent some special time with Jesus over the holidays or something because his preaching lately has been WHOLE NUTHA LEVEL!
- I am so pumped up that I get to serve with the people at The Connection Church. Even on their worst day, they are the most encouraging, inspiring people on this planet. They never cease to amaze me.
- We did a little video shoot on site during the 1st service. Waaaayyyyyy to hard to do on a Sunday with all my other duties. No spoilers, sorry…you have to come to church next week to see it!
- I am preaching in seven days. First time for 2009. YEAH! C’MON! I’ll be talking about community, Connection Groups, and how we all have a need to belong.
- Financial Peace kicks off tomorrow. I’ll be teaching. Its going to be a long, interesting 13 weeks!
- My little brother is on Twitter. Stinking cool. We will talk mucho more now, if he sticks with it. Send him a message if you use twitter to @tyblanco so he’ll stick with it!
- Race day is 14 days away. Just a half marathon (13.1 miles.) Not as big of a deal anymore.
Still pumped though! - Going to be a LONG LONG INSANE FULL FULL WEEK! BRING IT!
My 2009 Reading List
One of my goals for 2009 is to read 40 books. You can see the covers of the books I have chosen below or click on the 2009 reading list to view them. If you have any of them and would be willing to trade, its probably going to be more challenging for me to buy the books than it is for me to read them. Another challenge was to find a good way to manage my books. Goodreads.com solved my issues. Its 100% free and allows you to track books by sorting them into shelves. Pretty creative. You can also rate, review, share, and add personal notes to books. It even has a spot for you to mark whether you own the book or not. Perfect for anyone with tons of books that needs a good way to track them.
You’ll notice my list only has 39 books on it. That will leave me room for a new release. I’m sure this list will change a little as the year goes by. What are you reading this year? Right now?
