The Fat Trail Runner

Let me start by saying this. If you are going to be offended by one cuss word, don’t click the link below. Also, don’t read the story of Balaam’s Donkey in Numbers chapter 22…ok…on we go…

I’m not going to lie. This blog post by my buddy Rafael (The Fat Trail Runner) got me pumped up and encouraged the heck out of me. Why? Because he pretty much hit the nail on the head. I want to be everything he said…and more for the people that God puts in my life.

Thanks Rafael. I needed that. If you ever see me slowing down, smack me around a little bit.

Next BIG Race

Me and Dad are running the 2010 Dinesy Marathon in January.

26.2 miles. Bring it. I’m shooting for under four hours this time.

I don’t have to start trainging until September. But I might go take some boxing lessons. This race looks like it’ll be in close quarters…I might need to brush up on my full contact skills.

Check it. The whole course, in 3 minutes. Nice.

Cowtown

I ran the Cowtown half marathon (13.1 miles) with my Dad on Saturday in Ft. Worth, Texas. The race was a blast…freezing though. At start time the temp was 30 degrees with 36-40 mile an hour winds out of the north. The first 2 miles of the race were…you guessed it…straight into that north wind.

I did something different this race…something I’ve never done before. I ran WITH my Dad. On purpose. I just thought it would be fun to finish together for once. At the finish line though, I made sure my foot crossed before his (to keep my perfect record of always beating dad.) Only, it appears that I made a mistake. I apparently did NOT think to make sure that my foot with the timing chip crossed first.

So, officially, you beat me Dad. Enjoy it while it lasts. From now on, IT IS ON. NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!

Incredibly Interesting

This is incredibly interesting to me.  Maybe I will go back to college and get my masters…I bet their enrollment jumps significantly.  All of the sudden high school seniors from all over the world will want to attend Abilene Christian University.

Here is the link one more time.
