Frames of Reference
I’m trying to process and form this idea. Help.
Here it is…as best as I can explain it:
When people are talking to you, giving you advice, even praying for you, they naturally filter you through their own experiences, preferences, dreams, talents, etc because those things are their only frame of reference.
But we are all different. Totally different. So this doesn’t work too well. It causes communication issues, negative feelings, and such.
Don’t we need to realize (especially as leaders) that we are all different?
Triple Valentine’s Date
Had a blast with Bryan & Jamie Moore (couple on left) and Nic and Johanna Burleson (right) on our triple Valentine’s date. We celebrated together at the Melting Pot in Austin and put away more food than ANYONE should eat. Nic and I did most of the eating. Seriously, look at the table. Nic and I are responsible for about 3/4 of that food.
Bryan serves as one of our musicians, vocalists, and with our youth ministries. Jamie is one of our stage directors…everyone listens to her!
Nic is our family pastor and Johanna is the queen and one of my favorite soon to be momma’s at TCC. Gotta love Nic’s “formal hat.” Because he likes to party…
I saved the best for last, that SMOKIN’ HOT woman next to me is my wife. She means more to me than anyone on this planet and still makes my heart jump!
