Leaving EARLY tomorrow for Vegas to run in the Las Vegas Marathon! MAN I AM JAZZED! But, I am even more pumped about being away for 3 days with my family. It is going to ROCK!

So, I’ll be checking out of the blogosphere for a few days. No need to worry…you’ll be able to see plenty of fun stuff though because I will be blogging a little from the good old iPhone. Mainly pics and short comments…see you soon!

Marathon Playlist & WINNER!

The playlist is ready. It has gone through my own personal extreme testing process. It is 2.7 hours long so hopefully, I won’t even hear the last .7 hours of it!

The playlist is made up of songs that are going to increase my endurance and muscle strength…or maybe they are the songs that I will be listening to as I pass out from exhaustion. We’ll know soon.

As for the winner…well…just a second.

Best Song I Should Have Owned But Didn’t Award goes to:
- JORDAN POLK: “18 Miles to Memphis” – Stray Cats. Not sure how I didn’t already own this song since I have over 130 Stray Cats songs…thank you Jordan!
BEST OVERALL Running Song Award goes to:
- SAM WHITE: “north american scum” – lcd soundsystem. This song MAKES me run faster. I am going to have it on its own playlist as a quick backup song in case things start to go wrong.
Most Well Thought Out Playlist Award Goes to:

WORST Suggested Song Award goes to:
- JEFF HOWARD: “Diamonds From Sierra Leone” – Kanye West. Seriously Jeff. Next time I see you I AM going to punch you right in the face. Maybe you SHOULDN’T come home for Christmas…
Most VIOLENT Song Award Goes to:
- STEVE ETHERIDGE: “Come out and play” – The Offspring. Hey man, I will probably need a good violent song towards the end!

Well, Steven Furtick has done it again. He has issued me yet another serious leadership beat down. It’s about keeping your mouth shut. The scene in Tommy Boy where Chris Farley says, “let me tell you why I suck…” comes to mind.

So let me tell you why I suck…I don’t always keep my mouth shut when I should. Sometimes, I shoot my mouth off.

We could all do better at keeping our mouths shut when presented with the opportunity to say something negative about someone that God is using. I do have issues with other pastors…it bugs me that Joyce Meyer spent so much on a toilet and that Joel Osteen tells horrible jokes.

But if I truly had a KINGDOM perspective, if I had the heart God wants me to have, I’d be praying for these people rather than talking about them.

Thanks for issuing me my needed beat down Steven. God is using you in my life to mold my leadership regularly. You challenge me and inspire me.

Sunday Mind DUMPY DUMP DUMP

The Sunday Mind Dump…

If you missed church today, you missed James Spear singing “Thankful” by Johnny Lang. Click here and listen to it now on Cole’s blog. In my opinion it was absolutely THE BEST song we have EVER done at TCC. SIMPLY INCREDIBLE.
I’m telling you, when you miss even just one week at TCC, you MISS OUT BIG TIME.
It was an incredible Sunday. It felt SO GOOD to be teaching again! We had a blast today talking about three ways that we can give thanks to God. BUT, we did something different. Rather than just listening to me talk about those three things for 30 minutes, we talked about each thing briefly and then actually DID each thing together. It was incredible!
I got THE BEST feedback I have ever had today regarding our band and the message. THAT is encouraging!
All that said, today was a crazy day at TCC. We dealt with everything from having to move a small piano to a gas leak to a fire alarm. Fun huh? You would be AMAZED if you knew about some of the things that go on before (and sometimes even during) our services. It’s a small price to pay to be able to meet in the school.
I love Tobias, but MAN I AM READY TO MOVE TO THE PAC! I asked my neighbor today if he knew that we were going to be moving to the PAC and he replied, “Yeah, you just announced it last week.” Man that BEAT me down HARD. It’s only been ONE WEEK! AHHHHH!
Seriously, you should have heard James sing today. WOW!
I run my 1/2 marathon in Vegas in 6 days…YIKES.
I have to get some tights to run in. Not women’s tights, but tights for cold weather. Why am I telling you this?
Went grocery shopping today and I got some “TAZO” tea to go with my breakfast. Pumped about that…is my life really that sad?
I put up our Christmas lights today. Stop by the house and check it out…they rock. And, I am only about 3/4 of the way done!
My knees hurt from being on the roof for 3 hours. Probably wasn’t a good idea to put the lights up in 34 degree weather a week before my big run…but hey, its my only Christmas tradition…that I put up the lights the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
I cannot believe UT got beat down so bad by A&M. That STUNK. Funny to see A&M’s coach resign immediately after the game though. Smart move I guess since he was obviously going to get fired anyway. You can’t fire me! I QUIT!
PUMPED about hanging out with Cole tomorrow. I miss that guy when we are apart for more than a few days.
