I got griped at by three readers today for not blogging much this week…so here you go:
This is what I am dealing with all week.
The Something So Big video project is now at 54 gigs. If you don’t know what a gig is, let me put it into perspective for you. 1 gig is 1,000,000,000 bytes. A DVD is 4.7 gigs of video. But I have 54 gigs. 54. That’s a lot of movies. The human genome, as vast as it is, only contains about .791174 gigs of info…but again I have 54 gigs of footage now. And we are only on week 3 of a 7 week series which means I am only half way there. Another example, 54 gigs could hold 54,000 novels. Are you starting to grasp how much I footage I am working with?
Of course this has caused a number of other issues. The biggest is that my hard drives (yes plural) are FULL. I need a terabyte BAD. Don’t even get me going on how big that is. Anyone wanna donate a terabyte drive to the church? They are about $400…
