Out on a Limb

I wasn’t sure about posting this, but here it goes…I’m typically an open book, but this can be a touchy subject.

I’ve been saving a little here and there for two years and finally, I have an appointment with an amazing tattoo artist in Austin. I’m heading to get some new ink in a couple of weeks. Yes, I know. Pastor? Tattoo? What?

Just need your help…What do you think I should get?

A. The words “TO LIVE IS CHRIST” in script across my chest. Pretty self explanatory. Philippians 1:21

B. An old school anchor.  In ancient times the anchor, like the fish, was a symbol with ties to the early Christian church. An anchor tattoo can be thought of as holding one steadfast, like an anchor holding a great sailing ship safe in harbor, against winds and currents that might carry it astray.

C. OTHER. You pick…nothing ridiculous like a picture of Cole or Nic. :)

Go ahead, share your thoughts. My mind is basically made up, but I’m curious to see others’ thoughts.

Sleeping Strike

Couper is wearing us thin lately. He is on a sleeping strike that is lasting way too long. We’re all going looney. I guess this is just part of parenthood.

Bedtime used to be one of my favorite parts of the day. I gave Couper his bath, we read a story, we prayed and sang a song, turned the lights off and he went to sleep. Now it is hour upon hour of pure chaos.

Seasoned parents, help this family out. How do we get the kid to sleep?

Saturday Night Shots

  • PUMPED about our God on Film sermon tomorrow!
  • PUMPED that I got to spend the ENTIRE day with Couper today. I didn’t leave his side for one second. Had a blast!
  • PUMPED about going to Lubbock this coming week to see our family. Especially my MA…she just had foot surgery and I am going to wait on her like she did me all those years…
  • PUMPED about running and biking with my Dad while in Lubbock.
  • PUMPED about maybe getting some new ink while in Lubbock. We’ll see…I’m thinking Connection Church blocks logo. :)
  • PUMPED about Connection 101 tomorrow!
  • NOT PUMPED about the super short time in the office I’ll have all week.
  • NOT PUMPED about summer coming to a close for us.
