Easter Sunday Mind Dump

  • It was an OUTSTANDING day of victory at Revolution Church!
  • Attendance records were set today. Everything God has done in the last two and a half months blows my mind when I think about it.
  • Many lives were changed today. People stepped across the line by faith and started a relationship with Jesus. THAT is what its all about at Revolution!
  • We kicked off a fun, new message series today called “Raising G-Rated Kids in an X-Rated World.” Had a blast and can wait to preach the next few messages.
  • The Revolution Band was absolutely amazing today. Full force. Here was the set:
    • You Deserve
    • Rise and Sing
    • Hosanna
    • The Middle
    • The Time Has Come
  • Our lead guitarist, Jacob, ripped through the guitar solo in “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World like it was no thing at all. Awesome! The song was great for what we were talking about.
  • TONS of new faces today. Love it!
  • We also had four egg hunts with a total of 7,000 eggs. It was a blast to watch the kiddos go after the eggs. We also gave away 4 bikes, 2 iPods, a PS3 Game System, and a bunch of Veggie Tales DVD’s.
  • The team at Revolution kicked it this weekend! Setup last night was smooth and fast; services went very well and people were connecting. Great job team!
  • Yes, I said “Honka Honka” during the sermon. If you want to know why go listen to the podcast. :)
  • I had two goals today: One, have an amazing first Easter Sunday at Revolution…CHECK! And two, hang my television. The guy at Best Buy sold me the wrong TV Mount so I guess I’m not going to get to check off number two. BAH! I feel like a failure if I don’t check it all off…
  • The iPad came out this week. I have been using Apple computers for over 10 years now. They never stop amazing me! I want to run out and buy one badly, but I’m trying to hold out on this Apple product until Version 2 hits…of course, unless I can sell a bunch of stuff and go get one! :)
  • Speaking of, anyone want to buy a brand new Kindle 2 or a nice Sig Sauer Mosquito .22 pistol? Holla!
  • Got some good bloggage in the hopper this week…
  • Gonna be another super busy week! Peace, pow and I’m OUT!

Dead Day

Have you ever thought that the first Christ followers only knew one thing when Jesus died on the cross; that is, that He was dead.

We jump ahead to the Resurrection too fast. If Jesus had been crucified yesterday on Good Friday, we would only know one thing right now – that Jesus is dead. We would only know the bloody, messy cross. We would be focused on the fact that He paid a serious price for our sin.

Imagine the sense of lost hope that those first Christ followers must have felt.

And then, three days later…the stone was rolled to the side. The tomb was empty. His body gone. Word spread fast that He had risen.

Can you believe what that experience must have been like? MAN!

Just a simple observation that has completely changed the posture with which I celebrate Easter and Holy Week. Right now, Jesus is dead. We only have the cross to thank Him for.

Tomorrow, on Easter Sunday, we will celebrate His conquering death!

Thank you Jesus forĀ the cross! Don’t let us EVER forget!

24 Hours of Prayer

Tonight at 6:30pm, Revolution Church will pray for 24 hours straight. I will personally pray for 5 of those 24 hours.

Below are some specific things that we will be praying for. I would be honored to have you pray with us for an hour during that 24 hour stretch. Click here to sign up and you will receive our official 24 hour prayer guide.

A few things we will be praying for:

  • Pray for our teams to utilize their gifts at full throttle, to impact lives of children, and the entire church family.
  • Pray for me, as the pastor of Revolution, to deliver God’s word in an uncompromising and compelling way, that people would be saved and changed.
  • Pray for a bold proclamation of truth mixed with bold love and grace this weekend.
  • Pray for nothing short of miracles to happen in the hearts of people this weekend.
  • Pray for your own needs as well, for God to bring you victory in your own struggles.

A SAD HAPPY Day

Today is Couper’s third birthday! I cannot believe that my son is three already. Time ticks away much too fast. We are going to have a blast and celebrate all day long! I want to kick it off by blogging a quick trip down memory lane…

You were born 5 weeks early and spent the first 8 days of your life in the hospital. It was scary for Momma and Da-O, but thousands of people were praying for you and God healed you!

Before we knew it, you were home and HAPPY! We cuddled a LOT!

I had a blast hanging out with you (and I still do!) I’ll never forget holding you, listening to you coo and make all those fun baby noises. Your head was kind of a funny shape because they delivered you with suction. I still can’t believe how TINY you were!

You immediately LOVED all of your grandparents. Here you are with “Shug.” You stuck your tongue out for about 22 hours each day.

This is the first time you ever made the sad face. I’ll never forget it. You could stick that lip WAAAAAYYYY out!

I apologize for letting your Momma dress you up like a chicken. You were cute, but you are the furthest thing from a chicken I’ve ever seen. I can’t ever remember meeting such a courageous little boy! Always remember this: Overalls are a sin.

I took you to your first Baseball game as soon as possible. You clapped and giggled the entire game. It was a BLAST! We’ve got many many more games to go to together!

You learned this from me. Shhhhhh…don’t tell Momma. I have a lot more bad stuff to teach you.

Here is another shot from a baseball game we went to with Uncle Ty. You are the cutest stinking kid in the WORLD.

This is from our first trip to the circus. It was a BLAST…but honestly, I think Momma had more fun that you and I put together.

For a while, you got kind of chunky because you kept eating massive amounts of pork. Hilarious!

I love you buddy! Happy third birthday!!!
