Last Saturday Night Shots?

So this could be the last edition of Saturday Night Shots for a while since tomorrow is my last official Sunday with TCC. Oh wait, I’m preaching in Schertz the following week…

  • PUMPED about slowing down for a few tomorrow and spending some time with my family. Life is go go go go right now. Can’t say that I’ve honestly focused in a few weeks.
  • PUMPED that I might even watch some baseball tomorrow. Yeah right…
  • PUMPED that I get to hear Pastor Nic Burleson preach tomorrow. Seriously, this guy can bring it. God has given Nic the gift of preaching, no doubt.
  • PUMPED about all God is doing in our lives right now. He has been loving and faithful to us in so many ways. I still don’t know many of the next steps but I do know that He is in control!
  • PUMPED about a meeting with the owner of a possible meeting space for the new church on July 1st.
  • PUMPED about my HORNS going to the National Championship. BOOOYAAAHHHH!
  • NOT PUMPED that tomorrow is my last Sunday at TCC. It is going to absolutely stink to say goodbye to so many incredible people.
  • NOT PUMPED that I will be away from Amber and Couper for almost three weeks starting July 8th. DANG that is going to STINK. No family. No church. No life.

A Game of Dare…with GOD.

Last fall we did something called “First Fruits” Sunday during the Something So Big campaign. This was basically a day for us to kick off giving our commitments that we made on Commitment Sunday by giving our biggest and best offering.

Let me share what our family did. I felt like God wanted us to reach a BIG GOAL for our first fruits offering. In fact, it was so big for our family and budget that it required some sacrifice and some hard work. When I came up with the amount we were going to give, I literally laughed at myself. It simply was not possible.

But, over the following few weeks, God sent all kinds of side design work and magic show opportunities my way and provided extra income to our family that I never saw coming. So guess what we did? We were able to double the silly little dollar amount that I came up with and give it to Something So Big.

In Malachai 3:10, God plays the dare game with us. He dares us to just test Him in this one area and see if He doesn’t pour out blessing into our lives.

Incredible concept huh? Listen to God. Do what God says. God comes through.

It really is that simple much of the time.  Why do we make it so much harder on ourselves?

My Wife is AMAZING

Couper turned one last month. I cannot believe he is already a year old. I had a pretty tough time with that…I actually cried after I put him to bed on his birthday. I took it hard.

But this blog isn’t about me being a sissy…its about my incredible wife. She threw Couper the coolest first birthday any kid has ever had! She basically turned our house into a jungle with very little help. I couldn’t believe it.

Late Late Night with the Signs

Last Thursday night I worked until 4am getting our signage all designed for our move to the PAC. I photographed my progress and wrote this blog to share it with you all (much like I did with Something So Big last fall) but somehow I forgot to click publish. At 4am. After working for 20 hours. Imagine that.

I was pretty delusional. Sorry…at any rate, here’s the pics. First drawings, then research, then drawings, then pricing, then hacked off and tired scribble, then victory!
