- We saw a new attendance record set today at Revolution!
- God is doing INCREDIBLE things right now at our church! He just keeps blowing my mind!!!
- At Revolution, we believe that church should be a place where it is ok to not be ok. That’s one reason people are coming and lives are being changed!
- Revolution Church is a BATTLESHIP, not a cruise ship. If you missed the first message in our new series today, listen to the message here.
- If we are going to build Battleships in our world today, we have got to stop swimming in the sea of me. The sea of me is some nasty water!
- We’ve also got to always remember that Jesus makes us ALIVE.
- Last, we have to live the mission that Jesus has given us…and not just on Sundays. We live the mission EVERY DAY, ALL DAY. Then on Sundays, we show up to celebrate what God has done all week long!
- Part of what we talked about today is how people on a cruise ship just sit on the deck and sip on drinks. On a Battleship though, each person knows what their specific duty is to help accomplish the mission. According to the Scriptures it is impossible to say that we are following Jesus if we are not actively serving others. If you attend Revolution and you are not signed up to serve in a ministry yet, don’t wait another moment. Go here and share what ministry area you are interested in now!
- Our volunteers were absolutely INCREDIBLE today! I can’t believe that I get the HONOR of serving with these people! I love you all! You make Revolution spin right round baby right round like a record…I’ll stop now.
- One last thing: Revolution, never forget that its all about making Jesus famous in one life at a time. Our church is seeing incredible growth. Let’s make sure that we keep it ALL ABOUT HIM!
Sunday 3 Service MIND Dump
Who are You Calling Out?
I’ve had several people in the last few years call me out. It all started when a close friend, Seth Pennington, blurted out to me one day that I needed to start a church. I laughed it off.
3 years later, here we are, launching Revolution Church!
In the months leading up to our decision to start a church, I had many spiritual mentors call me out. John Atkinson believed in me and called me out. My family did it. Amber called me out in a big way. Ben Branam left me with no choice.
Of course, the biggest voice calling me out was God…but, there is no way I would have had the courage to step out and go for what God was calling me out to do if I didn’t have these people encouraging me along the way.
Who are you calling out? Who are you encouraging? And what God ordained opportunities are being missed out on because you aren’t cheering people on?
Sex: Question One
This week at Revolution, we’ll be talking about the topic of sex. I’ve been asked two specific questions a few times related to this Sunday. Today I’ll tackle question one and tomorrow, question two…here we go…
Question 1: Why would a church talk about sex?
Why wouldn’t a church talk about sex? Sex is on everyone’s mind. Its literally everywhere. My blogging friend FlowerDust backs this up. I’ve seen ads on TV where sex is used to sale the most random things! When we have TV ads using sex to sell something like a vacuum cleaner, I’m pretty sure we’ve become a sex-saturated culture.
Traditionally, the church hasn’t had the guts to address this topic. Which scares me because the church knows (or should know) the truth! Confusion and false teaching run rampant in our world when it comes to sex. Why wouldn’t we share the truth in a loving way?
We forget that sex was God’s idea. He created it. He wants us to enjoy it, in the context of a marriage relationship. One husband, one wife…oh, and frequently.
Did you know that there is an entire book of the Bible dedicated to the subject of sex? Its called Song of Solomon. Go read Song of Solomon 7:1-8 and you’ll see what I mean. Little hebrew boys weren’t allowed to read this part of the Bible back in the day because it was so sensuous.
God wants husbands and wives to have a healthy sexual relationship. It’s a point of tension for so many marriages. Come ready this Sunday to learn what God has to say about this topic that affects all of us!
Only One First Time
You only get one first time. A few weeks ago we took Couper on his first roller coaster. The video footage doesn’t do a lot of justice sharing how hilarious his face was, but its still worth a watch.
Since there is only a first time for everything, join us for our Grand Opening at Revolution Church this Sunday, Jan. 24th at 10:30am. Click here to visit our website to get times and directions. I hope you’ll join us for this special day!
