Here is what Craig Groeschel just hit me with in session 6:
- Opened by having us pray to God asking him to disturb us in a divine way.
- A practical atheist is someone who believes God exists but lives as if he does not.
- We have a lot of church leaders living as practical atheists.
- Read Is. 29:13-14
- Hybels: the way I was working for God was destroying Gods work in me. I had become a full time pastor and a part time follower of Christ.
- When we are practical atheists we:
- We start to believe that our effort is better than Gods power.
- We believe that our private life doesn’t effect our public ministry. And its not just the bad things that we do privately. Its also the good things that we don’t do.
- We believe that we must please people more than we must please God. I was asking what can I preach to bring people in rather than what can i preach that will bring glory to God.
