Some highlights from day one. Be sure to check out the pics below:
- Left the house early and hit the new toll road…but not early enough. We had to cut in the security line at the airport to make our flight. Luckily, everyone in line understood.
- When we arrived in Orange County we drove up to LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and then Venice Beach. It was a blast checking it all out with Cole.
- While on Hollywood Blvd, we shot a video for church…nothing super special, but cool because its on location. Oh, and we did it all on a terrible little camera. Hopefully the footage is good enough…
- Went to “High Voltage Tattoo” (LA INK, Kat Von D’s place) and checked it out. I was going to get the Connection Church blocks tattooed on my arm, but Kat Von D is pretty proud of her work…about $600 proud. SHEESH.
- SUPER PUMPED about the conference starting tomorrow. Look at this list of speakers. WOWWWWW!!! I am HONORED that I get to be a part of this event! Only 1,500 people worldwide are invited to this event. Thank you Jesus!
- I tweeted so much today that my iPhone ran out of battery power.
- Cole just started snoring. Crud.

- Today we announced that 35 people gave their lives to Christ last week! In all three services the crowd RIPPED UP in applause. Connection Church, thanks for “getting it!” Seeing lives changed is what it is all about!
- We had Baptism out at 5 mile dam today. Baptism is the most important celebration we have at The Connection Church. Tons of people were baptized today…I love seeing people come up out of the water and hearing our congregation cheer for them! I got to baptize my neighbor, Bobby. He’s the coolest kid on the block!
- Cole’s sermon on sex today rocked.
- The band is seriously blowing my mind lately. Whoever said that church music had to suck was WRONG.
- I had a first time guest come up to me today after church and tell me that all his life, church has been the most boring, painful, waste of time and that he hates it. His exact words were “church sucks.” But then he said, “but not this church. We will be back.” He was wearing Budweiser sandals…I LOVE that!
- The band is doing a run through at the PAC tomorrow morning. Your prayers at 8:00am would be appreciated.
- I need some Starbucks. They should put one at the entrance of our neighborhood.
- Can you believe we move to the PAC in just 3 weeks?
- Couper’s birthday is tomorrow…I can’t wait to give him our presents!
- Had a blast with both families in town this weekend. Makes for a crazy weekend, but its always worth it.

For me, the bottom line on Feb. 14th is this: I LOVE MY WIFE. But, I want to SHOWER Amber with affection every day of the year; not just on Valentine’s Day. Sorry Cupid, you suck. I won’t even see my sweetie today because I showed my love to her by flying her back home to Lubbock and giving her a day at her old beauty shop for Valentine’s Day.
I was going to post more thoughts about Valentine’s Day today, like everyone. But then I read Perry’s post. And it’s just TOO STINKING GOOD…there’s no point in me posting when he NAILED it!
