Favor

I don’t do this often, but lately I’ve been asked way more than usual how to pray for me. In June of 2009, I asked you to pray this same thing. Today I ask again.

Luke 2:52 says this:

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” -Luke 2:52

Please pray that this verse would be true in my own life.

I want to grow in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and with men over the next several months so that Revolution can reach more people in less time and help them become fully devoted followers of Christ.

How can I pray for you?

Special Launch Weekend Prayer Focus

I believe that the single most important thing as we launch Revolution Church is that we are people of prayer. So, starting Saturday, Jan. 23rd at 6:30am we will have someone praying at all times for the Launch of Revolution Church for 12 hours straight.

I’d love for you to join us by committing to prayer for one hour. You can click here to sign up. After signing up, you will receive a prayer focus guide.

Then, at 6:30pm on Saturday, if you are local, we will meet at the Stars Gym for a short communion service as we pray for nothing short of miracles to happen in the hearts of people this weekend through Revolution!

You Just…Don’t…Know

A simple lesson I’ve learned since becoming a church planter…you think you know but you just don’t. Here is what I mean.

When I served as the Executive Pastor at The Connection Church in Kyle, I worked my tail off. I did things that caused stress, made mistakes, and dealt with every kind of issue you could name.

And because of that, I thought I understood my lead Pastors job pretty well.

WRONGO.

Staff and team members, as a fresh pastor just out of a staff role let me say this: you might think you get it but you just don’t. Trust me.

Your lead pastor experiences stress, emotional struggles, fear, worry, doubt, and a bucket full of other things like nobody else on staff. Its a WHOLE NUTHA LEVEL of nasty, no matter how put together he looks each day at the office.

You can’t possibly understand it. Some of you reading this are getting mad. That’s fine. I don’t expect you to get it. But if you ever become the lead pastor of a church…you will.

Here is something you can do: PRAY. Pray your stinking guts out for your pastor. Pray for his marriage, his kids, his stress levels, his worry, his doubt, his fear, his relationship with Christ, and his leadership.

Then, ask God what you can do to help your pastor the most and go for it.

THAT will build a great church.

(Cole, if you are reading this, I understand now. Love you bro.)

Saturday Night Shots – I’m Back

I’m back from a short blogging break to hit you up with some Saturday Night Shots!

  • PUMPED about being in our rental space for the first time as a team tomorrow.
  • PUMPED that we’ll be having music for the first time tomorrow. Ricky Garzon is going to lead us through a couple of songs in worship.
  • PUMPED about a hundred other things God is doing that are all colliding in the next few weeks to create the FIRST EVER Revolution Church gathering, our first preview service. NICE!
  • PUMPED that we reached our goal (and beyond) and will be getting some MUCH needed equipment and a big trailer to haul it!
  • EXTREMELY THANKFUL for everyone who gave towards the goal AND for everyone who prayed their guts out that we’d be able to reach that goal. THANK YOU ALL a MILLION times over!
  • NOT PUMPED about driving 30 hours to Atlanta and back to get it. Thankfully, we have some awesome guys on the team that are going to go with me so that we can tag team it and rotate drivers.
  • NOT PUMPED that my beautiful wife is in terrible pain. She woke up with some serious neck issues last night. Please pray for her.
  • COMPLETELY SCARED OUTTA MY MIND that our first service is in two weeks. Holy moly! We don’t even have a mic for me to preach with!
  • HAD A BLAST spending most of the weekend with my buddy Seth Pennington. Seth and I have about 10 hours in his truck on I-35 so far in the last 3 days. Love hanging with him, talking, praying, and serving God. Awesome to have a STRONG brother in Christ for the ride of life and church planing. He’s a HUGE encouragement to me.
