A Battleship with New Times

Our new times start tomorrow! Just wanted to remind everyone that Revolution now meets on Sundays at:

  • 8:30am
  • 10:00am
  • 11:30am

Invite your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors! You can go here to send them a cool Evite now. Also tomorrow, we will be starting our new series, BATTLESHIP.

Revolution Church is a place where the people say: “I love this church, because we have great people on a great mission to show forth a GREAT SAVIOR’S LOVE to a world that urgently needs Him!”

Instead of asking ourselves, “Do I like this?” we ask “Will this further our mission, and help people who are far from God come closer to him?”

That’s what makes our church a Battleship. Its ALL ABOUT THE MISSION.

Revolution Church is all about this: LOVE GOD. LOVE PEOPLE. START A REVOLUTION.

I believe that tomorrow we are going to see people meet Jesus for the first time ever. Get some good rest and get ready Revolution!

God is just getting started with what He wants to do through you!

Sunday Everything Changes

Wow! It’s been a CRAZY week! A few weeks back I wrote up this 3 week message series on prayer called Change Everything. God has a good sense of humor because this week He literally changed everything!

I am usually prepared for my sermons several weeks out, but church is about 12 hrs away and since God changed everything, the message is still in process in my head! We are still talking about prayer just from a completely different angle.

Check out the NEW schedule for the series:

August 8th – Kick it Open
August 15th – Give it Away Now
August 22nd – Gain Some Territory

Needless to say, God has done some incredible stuff this week that I am pumped about and I can’t wait to share it with you Revolution! And even more importantly, I believe that He has a breakthrough for YOU ready and waiting tomorrow!

Get to THE HOUSE tomorrow and come expecting God to Change Everything!!!

An Oak Tree Late in Winter: Ten Vignettes and a Triptych

I read about 20 books a year. This year, my good friend Josh Rosenthal released his first book titled “An Oak Tree Late in Winter: Ten Vignettes and a Triptych.”

Josh is also a very talented musician and songwriter. He has seven albums on iTunes. You need to get ALL of them. :)

In 2009, Rosenthal released phase one of what he calls the “Villages Suite” by putting out four albums in four months. His new book is phase two. With the book, Rosenthal speaks outside of his typical outlets using the art of narrative to show God’s ability to redeem even the most seemingly irredeemable memories. The book really is the icing on the cake, wrapping up the entire Villages Suite in a fresh, creative and sweet new kinda way.

If you’ve ever seen him in concert, you know that the stories he tells before his songs often impact the concert goers just as much – if not more – than the actual songs. If you’ve not seen him in concert, he’ll be playing at Revolution Church on August 29th during all worship services.

I love the format of the book. An Oak Tree Late in Winter takes 11 of Rosenthal’s songs and expands on those stories. Rosenthal says:

“I stepped back for a season of my life to focus on these narratives because I believe there’s a great redemptive power in them. As much as I believe in the songs I write, I, believe in these stories.”

And right there is my favorite part of this book. Its not just about the book…its about the concept, the passion, the songs, the concerts and the excellence with which all of these elements have been executed. The last couple of years of Rosenthal’s life have culminated in this one masterful piece of art.

GET THE BOOK HERE NOW. Heck, get two or three.

Here is a link to the table of contents which includes a spot to listen to the songs that the chapters of the book are named after.
