Live Marathon Stream

If you need something to do tomorrow I am running the Disney Marathon in Florida. The marathon is a slow one because of the HUGE crowd and tiny streets that it is held on. Most people don’t run their personal best times at Disney. But its supposedly a BLAST of a race.

So, as long as I have a signal, I’ll be Tweeting live updates and streaming live video during the race tomorrow. It starts at 5:40am Eastern time.

Watch my twitter feed HERE or facebook page here for the updates.

Anytime I am live streaming video, you’ll see a Tweet or a Facebook status update with a link that will take you straight to the live video feed.

Social Media

A big part of our strategy is social media (blogs, facebook, twitter, youtube, etc).

Sometimes, I get asked, “Zak, why do you use facebook and twitter so much?” Or, people ask me why I have invested time in social media.

Simple. Jesus went where the people who needed him most were. And right now, they use social media. Not convinced? Check out the short video below. Pastors, also, read this article.

Calling All WordPress & Twitter Users

ttcOne thing I love about the web 2.0 revolution is how all of the great platforms out there are open source. The sky is the limit!

Since I started using twitter, I’ve wondered what kinds of plugins would be developed for my self-hosted WordPress blog.

Enter Tweet This Comment. Tweet This Comment drives traffic to your blog by turning every comment into a possible Twitter link-back to your blog. How does it work? It integrates with WP’s built-in comment system and gives your commenters the ability to post their comment (or any message they desire) to their Twitter account with a shortened URL (bit.ly) that leads right back to the post on which they commented.

My buddy Scott Magdalein & his friend Kyle Peterson have developed this truly unique and incredibly useful plugin. Great developers, a great plugin and incredible results!

Check out Tweet This Comment here.

Parking Lots and MINISTRY

Look at this conversation I had on twitter over the weekend with a twitter friend. Start at the bottom and work back up to the top. Its short. This woman went to this church for 18 years regularly.

So, I just wonder, how many lost people are pulling into our parking lots and never making it in the doors?

Suddenly, the job of parking lot greeter is PROVEN to be incredibly important…

What do you think?
