- PUMPED that we are about to celebrate our First Easter as a Church. WOW!
- PUMPED about our mailer that hit 20,000 homes in our area today. Can’t wait to see what God does!!!
- PUMPED about several new systems we are putting in place at Revolution this week. Doing the preview services model was awesome before we launched b/c it allowed us to put a lot of this administrative stuff in place. The two compliments we get the most are “the band rocks!” and “Revolution is SO organized!” LOVE IT!
- PUMPED about our EGG GRAB going on Easter Sunday after each service. Tons of prizes and eggs with candy!
- NOT SO SURE about only having two services Easter Sunday. We shall see…they’ll be packed!
- NOT PUMPED about the long long long 3 weeks I have coming up. Jam packed with Easter, Couper’s birthday, moving to new house, traveling, and more. And yet, I am PUMPED about it.
- ABOUT TO CRY LIKE A LITTLE GIRL that Couper is almost 3 years old. Time goes by way too fast and is my second worst enemy.
See ya at Revolution in the morning! 9:30 and 11:00am!

A short confession and question. Pastors do some “different” things before they speak on Sundays. Here is what I do:
- Eat Wheaties Fuel with a Banana
- Drink tons of water on Sunday morning (usually 6-8 bottles on Sunday morning)
- Of course, I drink a tall cinnamon dolce latte in a grande cup with extra whip from Starbucks.
- Stretch…just like I would before a marathon. I do four different stretches.
- Hide somewhere for a few minutes and jump up and down praying and pumping myself up for the sermon each service…kind of like when I played Hockey. We would punch the goalie in the gut repeatedly to get pumped about the game.
So I guess I am asking two things:
1. Other pastors out there, what do you do before preaching?
2. Is there anyone who can punch me in the stomach before sermons?

- Please pray for our sound guy, David Carey, and his family. He is already fighting cancer and this morning he was rushed to the ER for heart issues. We will know tomorrow, but tonight, would you please pray for him?
- SERIOUSLY sore from the 31 mile race I ran yesterday. MAN. Don’t remember ever being so sore.
- No pain no gain though. That’s not just a dumb saying…its PURE TRUTH. If you want to accomplish something great, it WILL cost you something.
- Last night a literally sat in a tub of ice water for 20 minutes. Freezing cold…but felt good. Might do it again tonight.
- Revolution Church was CRAZY today!
- We had my good buddy Josh Rosenthal in from Salt Lake City Utah leading worship. It was interesting to see how people responded to just a mic and a guitar instead of a loud, driving band. I love mixing it up!
- Also, in Revolution Kids, we had a magician, Aaron Lynch performing. He shared some stories from the Bible in very creative ways. Honored to have him with us.
- We had people accept Christ today! NEVER GETS OLD! YEAH BABY!
- Also had a TON of 1st time guests today. Awesome!
- My good friend, Seth Pennington, and I hung a 5 foot by 10 foot banner with the church logo, website and service times on the front of our meeting location today. Awesome to have some constant exposure at our location.
- I shared our 1st BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) today for the first year of Revolution Church…we want to see 100 people baptized during year one!
- Had some awesome new people step up today into volunteer roles when we really needed it.
- Yes, I said “you don’t give a damn” in the sermon today. Go listen here. It was a powerful story/illustration of how we tend to think vs. how we need to think.
- Pumped about starting our new message series next week called “Save the Humans!”
- Also pumped about our first ever Partnership Class! If you attend Revolution Church, I hope you’ll join us for this special day!

- We launched TWO SERVICES at Revolution Church today. CRAZY!
- Through launching two services, our volunteer base DOUBLED. INSANITY! GOD IS MOVING!
- Four people accepted Christ today. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER gets old!!!
- We also kicked off a new two week message series called LET’S GET DANGEROUS! Click here to listen to today’s message.
- Team member Rachel Miller posted one of the cooles compliments on Facebook that I’ve ever received about our church today. See this image…

- I broke a one inch piece of pine with my bare hands in each service today, karate style. My knuckles were bleeding a little after church…worth it.
- As cool as I thought I was, my buddy Ted Myers from Kung Jung Mu Sul here in Schertz broke a stack of 6 concrete blocks with his forearm in BOTH services. THAT is DANGEROUS.
- I got a call from our worship leader, Micah, at 5:45am saying that our bass player was DOG SICK. So, I had to step up and play bass. Luckily, I picked up the songs OK. That said, after church, I told Micah I won’t be playing bass anymore. My duty is to preach. I’ve got all of the energy in the world (ask my wife or my right hand man, Ben) but playing bass jacks with my focus on God’s word. I am sharing this so that you will all keep me to my word. NO BASS for this preacher.
- Yes, I said that God did not send me to plant a purple dinosaur church today. Yes, I railed on Barney. That’s another blog post though…
- I have a 31 mile race in 6 days. HOLY BEEEE JEEBBERS.
- This was an INSANELY long week. Pastors, ever have one of those weeks where it feels like there is a full month between Sundays?
- I’m thinking four words right now as my filter for EVERYTHING about Revolution: Triangle. Snaps. Crazy. Move. I won’t bother trying to explain what each means or the intrinsic jacked up nature of the brain of Zak.
- So stinking proud of my wife…she is absolutely incredible. No idea why God gave a bum like me a woman like her!
- So stinking proud of our worship leader, Micah. The dude is flat out sold out for Jesus and is growing in his leadership FAST. I like that!
- So stinking proud of our entire team too!!!
