Recommendations

Pastor Zak & Amber LOVE our city. They have done all the work to find the best spots. Here are their current recommendations:

The Shops at La Cantera - The Best spot to shop in San Antonio

Northstar Mall - Indoor mall closer to Downtown

San Marcos Outlets - Giant outlet mall 45 minutes from San Antonio.

Signature - Restaurant inside the La Cantera Resort. Must have reservations.

NO, SERIOUSLY. We mean it.
Theory Coffee - Cool coffee spot on a bustling street corner. Outdoors. And again, for real for real, the BEST Cappuccino ever. Period.

The Downtown riverwalk is great, but for the best food and Riverwalk experience, take a short drive to the far north end of the Riverwalk. This is the “not touristy” part of the Riverwalk. It’s called the Pearl brewery district. Tons of amazing options for food, some shopping and a really good coffee shop.

Here’s our fav places to eat at the Pearl district. You can park anywhere at the Pearl and then easily walk to any of these:

Local Founders - Great coffee spot

Down On Grayson - Simple. Good food.

Josephine Street - Zak’s favorite HOLE in the WALL. Good steak, for cheap.

La Gloria - Authentic regional Mexican street tacos…NOT Tex-Mex. AMAZING!

Brasserie Mon Chou Chou - Amazing French food. Expensive, but worth it. You will need a reservation.

Southerleigh - Texas food in a historic setting.

Bakery Lorraine - Amazing spot for soups / salads / light lunch. Also good pastries for desserts.

Mezquite - Sonoran Desert grub but in San Antonio. Seriously good.

This is our arts district. Lots of good spots:

Rosario's Mexican Cafe Y Cantina - Great tex Mex!

Halcyon Southtown - Interesting bar / coffee / cigars

New Braunfels / Gruene are where Pastor Zak and Amber love to spend their time. It is located approximately 30 minutes north east of downtown San Antonio.

Coopers BBQ - True Texas BBQ. AMAZING! Ask the pit master "What is best today?" and do what he says.

A-tan Sushi - Best sushi anywhere!

Huisache Grill - American food. VERY good.

McAdoo's Seafood Company - Incredible seafood, steak, salad and brunch. Ask for the secret menu item “Johns Seabass”

Muck and Fuss - VERY good and unique burgers. Awesome outdoor seating

La Cosecha Mexican Table - Authentic Interior Mexican food. They also have Tex Mex items. Our favorite in the area. Try the New York Strip steak also!

Phoenix Saloon - Fun saloon / food & birthplace of chili powder

2-Tarts Bakery - Desserts / coffee / bakery. SO GOOD! Check out the peanut butter pie, banana cupcakes & homemade peanut butter cups.

Gruene River Grill - Good food in a really great atmosphere

Mozie's - Super cool old bar with the best sliders and filet steaks!
